The Beginning of Therese’s Long, Long Letter (END)
My Dear Sister,
It has been a while, hasn’t it sister? It’s me. Your cute little sister, Therese.
I wonder just how long it has been since the last time we met? How are you doing? Well, I suppose I don’t even have to ask, do I? Even if I didn’t want to hear anything about you, sister, people just never stop talking about what you’re up to.
Things have been so busy here that I haven’t been able to take the time to write. I’ve always been writing letters to you, sister, but for some reason or another I haven’t actually sent you any for a long time. Isn’t it strange?
That’s why, I’m sure that this time it will be a long letter. There are so many things I want to write to you about. About our new house, about that strange old man who came from the swamp, about how my father began to play the piano again side by side with that swamp man?
I suppose that, from my sister’s point of view, you’re much more interested in an apology than any of that? Who knows, perhaps I wrote it at the very end of this letter? So, please make sure to read carefully and check, okay?
Ah, but, I should write the most important thing of all first.
Because, my sister really is ill-tempered and impatient, after all. I’m sure you’ll scan straight through this letter and throw it away if you don’t see an apology straight away.
So, with that said, sister…
Congratulations on your marriage.
I hope that you’ll be happy. That’s something I’ve always thought, from the bottom of my heart.
Because, I am your sister, after all.
Author’s Note:
Thank you for reading this far!
With this, we have reached the actual end! Thanks for keeping me company!
That being said, if anything good comes to mind then maybe I’ll do some more (makes a note on my palm)
To everyone who bought the two books currently on sale, thank you for the support.
Okay, we’re actually done. For now.
Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh- I can’t believe that we made it to the end! Thank you for translating this emotional rollercoaster of a story, I really enjoyed it.

Oof my bad, it’s stated that it’s the beginning of the long letter, not really the whole letter.
Thanks for the chapter and for completing this series 😀

Can you really say it’s finished if the ending is an Incompete letter?

Yes. Whatever happened after these short stories is free for anybody to guess. They could say that the people got happy ending or otherwise. I guess that’s the charm of an open-ended ending?

It make me want to know what happened between the letters.

Quite unsatisfying ending. You know what would have been a better ending? They find Lisolette and fake Julian, and execute them for treason. I don’t care about their sob story. It doesn’t change the fact that they committed a coup.
They don’t deserve a “run away happily ever after ending”. They really don’t. I would have preferred them to be dead. Their sob story (which isn’t even a sob story), doesn’t change anything.
On a side note, I think Theresa needs to see a therapist. She is probably the only “villain” that deserved redemption because she actually has mental problems. Serious identity and yandere syndrome. I guess she can get a happy ending.
LikeLike
Therese did have mental problems but she was never a yandere.
What good would executing them do? All that would entail would be that two more people died.

Ahhh can’t say I’m 100% statisfied with how Therese’s story goes, I still hope she’ll make up with her sister. But it’s good enough for me. Glad she had some modicum of happiness in the end there. Still think Julian and Lise’s ending is too good for them.

I never though that there could be a decente ending through letters :0
This time for sure, thanks for the translation 😀
Therese, the actual villain of this novel,in a way of redemption .

She wasn’t the actual villain though. Camilla did commit those crimes so she WAS a villainess. Therese just tattled on her.

why are you so insistent on being wrong? it’s genuinely comical how much you repeat this sentiment despite multiple people correcting you though you might not have had replies on to see the replies sent correcting you so it’s not your fault

if i give an ending then it would be like
8 years later, Camila and Alois couple has the crown prince, since his brother gave birth to 2 princess.
The crown prince got tired of learning, sneaks out of the castle with his mother baked cookies. In a distant place, he meets a girl by chance( daughter of Liselotte) who doesn’t know her parent’s past. He befriends her and gives her a cookie while she gives a return present of a caterpillar., promising him that it will turn into a beautiful butterfly and the screen fades to black.
Tying all the knots

I understand that the author wanted to finish this plot point…. But I would’ve appreciated a lot more an epilogue with Alois and Camilla already married where they mentioned how they’ve adjusted to each other, describing what their dynamics became like while openly in love, and also a conclusion about what became of other characters: Klaus, the 1st prince, etc.

I kinda hope that Therese apologized to her sister in the end but at the same time I don’t think she would. Not because she hasn’t grown up but, because she would feel that the apology is kind of pointless in a sense. “I shouldn’t apologize because I don’t want to be forgiven nor should I be forgiven” might be in her mindset now. She did want to get an important point across though that no matter what happened she will always love her big sister. Once again I feel that the ultimate villains here are the hypocritical Storm family. They were the ones who broke Therese from the start and because she was broken everything started from there.
LikeLike
She probably will apologize on her death bed because in her mind an apology is so final and what will her relationship be then. So she keeps on as usual because in Camilla’s heart she already forgave her and Therese knows it.

For those who didn’t see the apology. I think we can interpret it 2 ways. First of which is that she wanted to retain that bizarre connection she has with her sister, as if saying sorry might be the end of it all from her perspective. Or the latter, in which she congratulated her sister and wished her happiness was meant as the apology. As before in her past mails, she still maintains that the land is a swamp. But this time, she didn’t maintain that her older sister could only be happy with her. Rather, she accepted that happiness without her in the congratulations. Maybe that was her form of apologizing?

ah what the hell, i really wanted to read the long ass letter. lmao. anyways, this was a rough series for me to read. I rushed through it in a day after all. but I’m glad i read this. I liked these extra stories more than the first half of the main story. I’m happy for Lisolette and Therese’ endings. I will definitely reread this in the future. Thank you very much for translating.

Thank you for all your hard work in bringing this to us! It was a good story. There were some parts I wasn’t completely satisfied with but I tie that into how life is, which this story does a pretty decent job in reflecting. All in all, this was a gem to find and read. The author’s story so far was great, but I still hope that we may see more extras in the future. Thank you again!

I finally finished reading this novel, and my opinions for the ending rather left a bad taste in my mouth.
Why?
1. The main Villains escaped and had a happy ending, I mean Alois and Camilla suffered the most damage, and the Villains just left without atoning for their sins? no matter how many sad story they have, i don’t find any justificaion to defend what they had done.
2. And why did the Author make Camila cry over the fake death of Julian, and Alois leaving Camilla to investigate the case with a little jealousy? All the romance that build up with Alois felt like waste to me.
3. There is no celebration chapter after this shit done.
4. Why didn’t the author make a chapter with Alois meeting with his biological father (the King)?
5. There is no further detail of what happened to Therese and Strom Family. They didn’t even apologize to Camilla properly.
6. The Author introduces “The Band Member” and I think is foreshadowing they will play music at Alois and Camilla wedding. I feel like I’m just hoping for too much.
7. No more detailed information about what happened to other family members after the rebellion, and what happened to Klaus’s father?
8. The Royal Palace must have the most shitiest security in the country, because there have been incidents of exchanging children, Fake Julian poisoned the king easily, and Gerda could easily take control of the prison guards.
The Author can make one more volume for conclussion, yes.. It seems like i expecting too much again.
Whoever you are reading this might disagree with my opinions, but I’m just trying to express my thought of disappointment.
And sorry for my painful English.

10 years of love vs 1 year love. Even if his appearance is different, he is the same person whom she cherished for a decade. (Realism)\
There was just a one line mention of celebration. And i agree with you on that
I agree with you on that as well. The king should also meet Camila and apologies for his wrong judgement.
Again a small mention of their backslash
agree with you
One line mention of reward and punishment but not detailed.
Gerda is known for moving the people, if she knows their heart. It is the exact reason she kept Alois under control. She also trained Fake Julian and Lisolette. So they were able to keep the country under their thumbs

I decided to re-read the extra chapters, and my bad for my point number 5.
The Neumann family seemed like sincere and honest people, and The Strom family still being an Asshole as ever. I still can’t forgive Therese (i mean backstabbing your own familly is just big no no for me). I feel like they trully repenting their sin, but still… They still haven’t apologized to Camilla in formally or genuine way.

It is true that it was backstabbing of a sort, but don’t forget that Therese did it in order to get closer to her sister. She never truly meant for hereto be put in any danger.

Therese never apologize, because she felt that the true family should not apologize and share all their burden. She still Camila as her sister. So never going to apologize

She tattled on her. Camilla had committed some crimes and done some bad things, so Therese told Lisselot about them. Note of importance: Therese never lied or slandered her sister so while this was still bad, it wasn’t actually something that she deserved to be punished for.
LikeLike
No, She did lie about Camilla hiring thugs to lay waste Liselotte,.which Camilla never did.
Badmouthing some one is natural if you hate them. It was unintentional but became a rumor which exaggerated with time. Even Camilla forgot about starting the rumor. Therese ratted her out.
She did used her family influence to meet with Julian in party which she was not invited. But the enemy made is sound as if she used her family name to torment Liselotte.
When Liselotte was bullied by higher ups. They made it sound like Camilla order them to do so. By her connection to them. In truth, the higher society everyone is familiar with other in some way. They just used it as pretext to blame Camilla.
In simple words, Therese gave the enemy minute details to make Camilla look like a criminal.

Damn it! I really REALLY wanted to read entire letter! I know for the feel of the story this is a better way to handle it… But since I was more interested in Therese than I ever was Camilla, I wanted to read more about her.
That said, it is interesting. Around 20+ chapters or so ago I wrote that the story was disappointing and I still stand by that opinion. Some things really would have been more interesting if handled differently…
And as a standalone work it leaves you with a sour taste in your mouth. However with all the extra bonus chapters it becomes much better.
This is how bonus chapters are supposed to be used!
